We only have 4 people in our group. Can we still participate?

Our classes hold between 8-10 participants at a time.  You do not need have an entire group to fill the room in order  to purchase a ticket.  You can book any number of tickets up to the total for one class.  Classes can be made up of different size groups - family, friends, or strangers - who are all working together to escape.

I am looking to buy tickets for a group of 4 people, but your website says that only one ticket is available for all of the classes on the day that I want to attend. Is this correct?

Unfortunately yes, this means that on that day there are no classes with more than one ticket available.  Please select another date.

I want to bring a friend but your website says that there are no tickets available. Do you sell tickets at the door?

If there are "no-shows" for a sold out class 5 minutes before the class begins then we will consider selling a ticket at the door.

If you have purchased the entire class and wish to bring one additional person, please contact us in advance and we will try to accommodate your request.

If there is space in the class then we will sell tickets at the door.

ABOUT ESCAPE ROOMS

What is an "escape room"?

Real-life room escape games are an immersive adventure game in which people are locked in a room with other participants and have to use their wits, persistence and collaboration skills to escape the room within a set time limit. Whether you are with a group of family members, friends, co-workers or even strangers, your goal is simple: find clues, solve puzzles, and work together to open the locked door in under 60 minutes.

Where do escape rooms come from?

Escape Rooms were a popular online game.  The real-life versions appears to have started in Japan, back in 2007.  Since then versions have popped up throughout Asia and Europe.

How did the School of Hard Locks begin?

The School of Hard Locks was developed by GEO Advisors with two purposes.

First, and most important, as a way for people to come together in a unique, fun

and entertaining way to have a great time.

Second, as a way for companies to give their employees an opportunity for a new type of interactive team building in a safe, intellectually challenging environment.

CORPORATE TEAM BUILDING

What are the topics covered in this team building activity and follow up class?

During the SoHL Team Building experience your staff will have the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in the areas of: Teamwork, Collaboration, Attitude, Problem-Solving, Leadership, Time Management and Communication.

Post-escape room seminars are available for any of these topics, based on the results of the exercise or based on your predetermined requests.

What is the cost for the Corporate Team Building Escape Room experience?

Contact us at the School of Hard Locks for corporate pricing, based on your own company needs.  info@SchoolofHardLocks.com

I JUST WANT TO HAVE A GOOD TIME

I only want to participate with my friends, not with strangers. Is this possible?

Yes, if your group purchases all of the tickets for a class.  If all of the tickets are not available then someone has already purchased some of the tickets for that particular time.

I am claustrophobic. Can I participate?

The rooms are the size of offices and classrooms.  Each room is locked for 60 minutes or until the participants find the key to exit.    It is the decision of each participant as to whether this will make them uncomfortable.

ESCAPE ROOM RULES

What can I bring into the room with me?

A fierce determination to find your way out is a good start.  Everything that you need to escape is provided in the room for you.  Your quick wits and ability to find and piece together all of the clues will help you succeed.  And don't forget your sense of time management - you only have 60 minutes before you become one of the students stuck in 1970.

Is cell phone use permitted?

No, the use of cell phones or other technology is not allowed.  Lockers will be provided for all students in which they can store their belongings.

What happens if I arrive late?

Tardiness is not permitted at the School of Hard Locks.  Doors close promptly and are locked for 60 minutes.  If you arrive late, unfortunately you will not be allowed to join the class.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your class.

How long will it take?

Those that return in under 60 minutes will have the opportunity to share their stories of being trapped in a school office or classroom.  Those who cannot solve the room in under 60 minutes tell no such stories - they are still somewhere locked inside.
